The number of visitors to Dubai during the first nine months of this year increased to 10.12 million international visitors, compared to 3.85 million visitors in the same period in 2021, a growth of 163%, according to the data. of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, which showed an increase in the number of visitors in the third quarter to 2.94 million, with a growth of 122.7%.
According to the data, the Dubai tourism sector, in the period January-September of this year, managed to recover about 84% of the pre-Covid-19 peak levels, which in the same period of 2019 amounted to about 12, 08 million visitors.
According to the data, Dubai received more than one million international visitors in September, while the total number of visitors in the period between January and September of this year approached pre-pandemic levels, while the indicators for both the number of hotel rooms, both for the nights booked and the average daily rate, as well as the average yield, exceeded in terms of room and length of stay of guests, pre-pandemic levels.

142.7 thousand rooms
The number of hotel rooms in Dubai increased at the end of last September to over 142.7k hotel rooms in 784 hotels, compared to 132.8k hotel rooms in 726 properties at the end of September 2021, while average hotel occupancy across all properties in Dubai was 71% compared to 62% in the same period in 2021. India leads the market
In terms of markets, India was at the forefront of export markets for Dubai’s international visitors in the period between January and September 2022, registering over 1.2 million tourists, followed by the Sultanate of Oman with around one million visitors, while the total number of visitors from the Saudi market reached about 907,000 visitors and 720,000 visitors from the United Kingdom.
In turn, Russia was ranked fifth, registering around 454,000 visitors, followed by America with 391,000 visitors, Pakistan with 279,000 visitors, France with 269,000 visitors, then Germany with 268,000 visitors, while Iran registered approximately 247,000 visitors.

Gulf countries
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries ranked first in terms of visitor provenance to Dubai, according to geographic regions, after accounting for around 23% of the total number of visitors during the first nine months of this year. year, followed by Western Europe with 20%, then the South Asian region accounted for about 17%, followed by the Middle East and North Africa with 12%, and by Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Eastern Europe with 11%, while the Americas the share was around 7%.
