Nutrition experts advise not to overeat foods and drinks that raise blood sugar levels, in order to avoid weight gain and negative impact on public health.

Nutrition experts pointed out that there is a group of nutrients that raise blood sugar levels, although some of them are healthy foods and drinks, according to what was stated in a report published by the Times of India, which is as follows:

1. Diet soda

Studies have found that consuming no-calorie artificial sweeteners, such as those found in diet soft drinks, increases blood sugar levels in the long term and causes weight gain contrary to popular belief.

2. Quick-cooking oats

While oatmeal can be beneficial for weight loss, the quick-cooking versions are processed and stripped of their fiber, thus causing a spike in blood sugar.

3. Orange juice

Consuming orange juice leads to a rise in blood sugar levels because it is devoid of fruit fiber, which slows down the breakdown of starch into glucose.

4. Bread

White bread and bread made with wholegrain flour have a high GI, which means they can quickly and sharply raise your blood sugar.
