As many as 10 detainees from the Rumbai Police, Pekanbaru, Riau who had escaped have now been arrested. The police shot 4 of them.
Reported from detikSumatraMonday (21/2023), the 10 prisoners escaped namely RR, RN, RF, MA, HI, SC, DS, NW, A and DP.
“All have been arrested. Four of them were shot for resisting,” said Pekanbaru Police Chief Kombes Jefri Ronal.
All detainees were arrested after 10 days of breathing free air. They were arrested in various areas in Riau and West Sumatra.
The police said A was the mastermind behind the escape from the cell. The mode is to dig the toilet.
“The mastermind behind the idea of this escape is A, the method is by digging the prisoner’s toilet which directly leads to the septic tank,” he said.
