Series The Scott brothers it contains its share of little details that even the biggest fans have (probably) never noticed. References to other series, fake pregnant belly or even a nod to the very first episode… Here are 10 things that mean you will never see the legendary show again like before.
Lucas’ first best friend
The character of Haley did not exist in the first draft of the pilot episode script Scott Brothers. She is a young woman named Reagan (played by Samantha Shelton) who was supposed to be best friends with the hero Lucas. Also, you can see him on screen during the library scene, right next to Lucas.
The reference to Dawson (while Chad Michael Murray starred in it)
And The Scott brothers he stole several things from the series Dawson, sometimes does not hesitate to refer to it explicitly. So, in the very first episode, Haley offers a book to Lucas and tells him: “Don’t worry, I wasn’t particularly trying to get you anything. We are not in a gloomy plan à la Joey and Dawson”. A direct reference to the relationship of best friends turned lovers between the two heroes Joey and Dawson in the series of the 90s. But the funniest part of this whole story remains the fact that Chad Michael Murray (Lucas) starred in Dawson. She also shares a scene with a certain… Hilarie Burton (Peyton).
The N°12 handed down from father to son
In episode 12 (remember this number) of season 1 of Scott Brothers, Dan’s parents come to visit him on his birthday. They then offer him a patchwork of all his basketball possessions as a gift. We note that he once wore number 12 on the court… This is then the same number as Nathan in the NBA, then Jamie’s number. Everything is connected.
Strange connection between The Scott brothers et Like Cinderella
In 2004, Chad Michael Murray shared the movie poster Like Cinderella with Hillary Duff. In it, he plays Austin Ames. And do you know which actor plays his father? This is Kevin Kilner, who plays Peyton Sawyer’s father in season 3 of Scott Brothers. The world is small.
When Rachel poses for the magazine Maxim
In episode 4 of the fourth season of Scott BrothersRachel gets the opportunity to pose for the magazine Maxim. We then see her in the middle of a photo shoot. This was not only for the storyline of the series, from its interpreter Daniel Harris actually made headlines, alongside Hilarie Burton (Peyton) and Sophia Bush (Brooke) in 2006.
In Season 4 Episode 13, Bethany Joy Lenz (Haley) can be seen wearing a fake pregnant belly. The actress wasn’t expecting a baby at the time, unlike her character… Ouch! On the other hand, in season 8, Bethany Joy Lenz was pregnant at the same time as Haley for her second pregnancy. Practice.
Have you noticed that this actor appears twice in the series?
Actor BJ Britt appears twice during the Scott Brothers : first time in episode 6 of season 1 where he plays a referee who ejects Lucas and Nathan from the field after they come to blows; and a second time in some season 6 episodes where he plays a rival of Nathan’s on the Charleston team since they both have the same player number. While one would be tempted to believe that BJ Britt plays two different roles, it would appear that he actually plays the one and only Devon Fox throughout his appearances on the show.
The spade a Laguna Beach
In episode 23 of season 6 of Scott Brothers, Brooke goes to Lucas and Peyton’s wedding on the arm of Nick Lachey. The reality TV actor-singer plays himself on the show. Annoyed, Julian lets go: “He’s just a boy band singer appearing on a reality show”. However, he got the wrong program and fixed it “he was playing Laguna Beach then”. To which Chase replies: “No, it’s another fool”. However, Chase’s interpreter, Stephen Colletti, was one of the stars of the reality show Laguna Beach. Yes, yes.
when The Scott brothers refers to Chuck’s Gossip Girl
Definitely, references to other shows aren’t what’s missing The Scott brothers. During episode 7 of season 9, DiMitri, one of Nathan’s kidnappers, attacks one of his partners. When the latter goes to hit Nathan, he stops him and says: “Are you Chuck in Gossip Girl? No means no”. Translation : “Are you Chuck on Gossip Girl? No it’s no”. This is an allusion to Chuck trying to rape two young women in the pilot episode of Gossip Girl and therefore does not accept being told “no”. Note that in VF, this replica of DiMitri has been completely changed and that the reference to Gossip Girl gone down the drain.
The book Julius Caesar
We love it when the latest episodes of our favorite series refer to the first few episodes, proof that the circle is full. Well, it’s inside The Scott brothers ! In the finale, Haley takes out the book Julius Caesar of Shakespeare and even begins to re-read it at the table. This is neither more nor less than a (big) nod to the pilot of the series, when Haley and Karen offer this book to Lucas.
