Alien and his “vehicle”, the unidentified flying object (UFO) is still alive object ‘sexy’ search for experts this year. Is there any progress in their studies?
Although they have not yet found concrete proof of their existence, human beings are tireless in trying to solve the mystery of aliens and UFOs step by step.

1. A new round of UFO research
UFO research is getting serious. In 2021, following a report on unidentified flying objects (UAPs) issued by the US military and intelligence community, Congress urged the establishment of a formal office to undertake a “coordinated effort” in the collection and analysis of data relating to the phenomenon.
On December 27, 2021, President Joe Biden signed into law the $768.2 billion National Defense Authorization Act for 2022.
Its contents include provisions for the establishment of an aerial object identification and management synchronization group, although the agency will not explicitly focus on looking for aliens.
“Efforts to detect, track and measure the UFO phenomenon on the ground, on an ongoing basis real timeit recently entered a new phase,” said Mark Rodeghier, scientific director of the Center for UFO Studies in Chicago.
“Technology has improved, software has improved, and the current interest in UFOs has attracted a new pool of trained professionals,” he added.
2. Information about UFO reports is more open
In April 2022, a Freedom of Information Act request filed by British tabloid The Sun four years earlier prompted the US Defense Intelligence Agency to release 1,574 pages of “UFO-related” material to newspapers.
The Sun reports material from the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), a US Department of Defense program that operated between 2007 and 2012.
The program includes 42 medical cases and 300 previously unpublished cases of humans sustaining injuries after alleged encounters with “anomalous vehicles,” including UFOs.
According to the report, there are people who suffer from burns or other conditions related to electromagnetic radiation. It also describes cases of brain damage, nerve damage, heart palpitations and headaches associated with abnormal encounters with vehicles.
However, it is unclear what sort of vetting process AATIP used to investigate these alleged incidents or if there was any vetting process at all.
3. Response to the Fermi paradox
In May 2022, two scientists proposed a solution to the Fermi paradox problem, namely the absence of evidence for the existence of extraterrestrial beings when the odds are high.
According to Michael L. Wong of the Carnegie Institution for Science and Stuart Bartlett of the California Institute of Technology, in his studiesopening up the possibility that a civilization intelligent enough to traverse space will eventually reach a point where its energy needs will outstrip its innovations.
This resulted in the collapse of civilization.
Alternatively, the alien civilization could maintain equilibrium, but become stagnant as a result.
To avoid the catastrophe of the previous scenario, the alien civilization has shifted its productivity from interstellar technology to the welfare of alien citizens, sustainable development and environmental harmony. As a result, the ability to spread across the stars has been sacrificed.
4. Help aliens in climate problems
A group called Messaging Extraterrestrial Intelligence (METI) International wants to send messages encoded in radio signals to the TRAPPIST-1 planetary system, which is home to at least seven Earth-like planets.
“Any alien who receives our messages will not be surprised to hear about our climate crisis,” said Douglas Vakoch, president of METI International.
“They have decades to observe our situation from afar,” he added.
These scientists hope that the alien civilization that received the message may be older and more advanced than Earth’s civilization, so it can offer assistance in mitigating climate change.
5. Suspected alien signals
In June 2022, China’s Five Hundred-Meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST) reportedly detected signals from an alien civilization and caused the internet to buzz.
FAST detected three narrowband radio signals that appear to come from space between 2019 and 2022. The signals were initially interesting, as natural sources do not generate these types of radio signals.
The team describes the signals as “multiple instances of possible traces of extraterrestrial technologies and civilizations from beyond Earth.”
However, some researchers don’t necessarily state this. University of California, Berkeley SETI expert Dan Werthimer, who was also part of the research project, said the signal was the result of human interference, not intelligent alien life.
