10 Arsenal Players Win 1-0

Arsenal managed to get their first win of the year. Face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League, the Gunners won 1-0.

Playing at Molineux, Friday (11/2/2022) early morning WIB, Arsenal’s victory was determined thanks to Gabriel’s goal in the 25th minute. The Gunners had played with 10 men after Gabriel Martinelli was sent off in the second half, but the Gunners managed to lock up the three points.

This result brought Mikel Arteta’s squad up to fifth in the standings with 39 points, while Wolves are in eighth position with 34 points.

The course of the match

Both teams played tight in the first 20 minutes. Wolves just got a chance in the 22nd minute.

Granit Xhaka’s foul on Raul Jimenez resulted in a free kick for Wolves. Jimenez became the executor, but his shot was saved by Arsenal goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale.

Arsenal actually took the lead in the 25th minute. Starting from a corner kick crisis, Ben White managed to win the air ball, feed it to Alexandre Lacazette.

Lacazette scrambled for the ball with Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa, but the French striker got it first, and his shot slowly but surely headed straight for Gabriel.

Despite being denied by two Wolves players, the Brazilian centre-back calmly completed the opportunity with a flick that found the home net. 1-0 to Arsenal.

Wolves try to catch up. In the 37th minute, Nelson Semedo’s cross from the right was met by Jimenez, but the Mexican striker’s header was still right at Ramsdale. Five minutes later, Semedo’s long-range shot deviated from the target.

Arsenal tried to get a second goal at the end of the first half. A cooperative action between Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard ended with a pass to Lacazette in the penalty box, but his shot was saved by Jose Sa.

Score 1-0 closed the first half.

In the second half, Wolves tried to take the initiative to attack. Daniel Podence fired a long-range shot in the 52nd minute but bounced over the Arsenal goal.

Wolves attack continued in the 54th minute. There was Leander Dendoncker who took advantage of Podence’s cross, but his header also did not lead to goal.

Arsenal did not stand still even though they did not press much. Xhaka had a chance to score in the 67th minute, but his header was easily saved by Jose Sa.

Disastrous for Arsenal appeared in the 70th minute. Gabriel Martinelli got two straight yellow cards for two fouls in close intervals.

First for interrupting a throw-in for Wolves trying to build on the counter-attack, second for fouling Francisco Oliveira from behind. This decision was protested, but the referee ignored it.

In a state of outnumbered players, Arsenal still had time to threaten the Wolves goal. Lacazette escaped the offside trap and only found Jose Sa in the 72nd minute, but his shot went wide on the right.

Wolves tried to take advantage of the advantage on the field. The 74th minute, Romain Saiss fired hard in the penalty box, but was pushed over by Ramsdale.

Wolves tried to lock up the Arsenal defense in the remaining time. Various attempts were made, such as Dendoncker’s header in the 83rd minute, but Ramsdale kept his pace.

No more goals were created until the end of the game. Arsenal managed to keep the goal and closed the game with a 1-0 win.
