The Foundation New Synagogue Berlin – Centrum Judaicum is looking from December 1, 2020
(initially limited until December 31, 2021)
an assistant (m / f / d) for the field of education and placement
in the context of marginal employment (€ 12.50 / hour).
As part of the project, educational materials and formats for a historical search for traces of the Jewish history of the Spandau suburb and the Scheunenviertel will be developed on the basis of archive and literature research. In the Spandauer Vorstadt, the achievements, ambivalences and problems of the Weimar Republic as well as the actions and measures of the National Socialists to take over the urban space were bundled together like in a magnifying glass. The focus of the project should be on Jewish places, residents and visitors, who make the diversity of the district and its destruction clear.
Your area of responsibility:
Collaboration / assistance especially in the following areas:
– Literature and archive research
– Compilation of literature and materials
– Creation of educational materials
– Preparation, follow-up and implementation of the educational formats
– Communication with project partners and participants
Requirement profile:
– Current or, if applicable, completed studies in a relevant subject (history, Jewish studies / Jewish studies, literary studies, etc.)
– Good knowledge of German-Jewish history and / or the Jewish religion
– Experience in or interest in historical / political educational work and pedagogical methodological knowledge
– very good knowledge of German, good knowledge of English
– Knowledge of another relevant language, such as Hebrew, Yiddish, Polish, is an advantage
– good PC and Microsoft Office skills
