1 Million Indonesians People Suffer from an Unhealthy Heart

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – A total of 1,017,290 Indonesians were diagnosed hepatitis or liver disease per year, according to a report on the results of basic health research (Riskesdas) 2018.

In percentage terms, 0.39 percent of the population in this country suffers from an unhealthy liver.

In fact, in May 2018, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that 1.34 million deaths that occurred in 2015 were caused hepatitis.

This number exceeds HIV cases and is almost as large as Tuberculosis (TBC) cases.

An internal medicine specialist, Prof. Dr. dr I Dewa Nyoman Wibawa SpPD – KGEH, said that people with hepatitis will experience a journey from a healthy liver, acute hepatitis, chronic hepatitis, then liver cirrhosis.

According to Wibawa, one third of sufferers hepatitis will have cirrhosis.
