Magdeburg/DUR – For the start of the 2nd Bundesliga, the German Football Association (DFB) is sending an experienced referee to Magdeburg. Florian Heft from Neuenkirchen (Lower Saxony) will referee the match between FCM and SV Elversberg on Saturday (1 p.m., live on Sky).
For the 24-year-old, it is his 87th appearance in the 2. Bundesliga, plus another 79 games in the 3. Liga and seven DFB Cup games.
1. FC Magdeburg has already met Heft nine times, the first time in May 2012 in the Regionalliga Nord, when the match was lost 2-0 to VfB Lübeck. The referee last refereed the 1-1 draw at SpVgg Greuther Fürth in December 2023. His FCM record is positive with four wins, three draws and two defeats.

On Saturday, referee Florian Heft will be assisted on the sidelines in the Avnet Arena by Jarno Wienefeld and Stefan Zielsdorf. The fourth official on the coaching benches is Marcel Unger. In the Cologne basement, Daniel Schlager and his assistant Justus Zorn will be responsible for the video evidence (VAR).
