The past season was a very turbulent one for 1. FC Köln: Always in a relegation battle, only on the last day of the leap into relegation and at Holstein Kiel then the final rescue. It was a season with very few highs and very many lows, the FC was never higher than 14th place (with the exception of the first matchday). In the end there was the last-minute rescue in the relegation against Kiel, so 1. FC Köln will also play in the Bundesliga next season. How do you rate the past season? The club had probably the biggest worries last season in the storm, both Latvia loan Tolu Arokodare (20) and Bruges striker Emmanuel Dennis (23) totally flopped. Sebastian Andersson (29) struggled with his injured knee all year round and scored the only three FC striker goals in the Bundesliga.

1. FC Köln: Horst Heldt and Markus Gisdol gone

It was also a difficult season for ex-sports director Horst Heldt (51), he was responsible for the transfers that did not work. He also held on to former coach Markus Gisdol (51), too long for many FC fans. Ultimately, Heldt also had to take his hat off after the season.

And then there is the board of directors, which was too quiet for most of the FC supporters for months, there were always conflicts, including harsh criticism. Nevertheless, the trio around President Werner Wolf (64) was exonerated, Carsten Wettich (41) was elected Vice President.
