1. Exit poll: 12% “tactical voters” decide the election

There were also many late deciders in this National Council election – and 12% voted tactically, for example to prevent Herbert Kickl from becoming chancellor.

It was an election day of superlatives – but in the end a lot of things went awry, as the election day survey by the Lazarsfeld Society for oe24 (2,159 respondents from September 28th – 29th) shows. When asked “When did you decide?” 64% answered that they were regular voters or had decided in the last 6 to 2 months before the election. But: 11% only made their decision last week and another 7% only made their decision on election day.

Tactical voters

And something else is exciting: 41% say they are issue voters, meaning they vote for a party, for example. B. because of the asylum issue, 8% vote for people and 28% are regular voters.
