1 Dead, Search for Missing Motorcycle Club in the West Sumatran Forest Has Been Hampered

The joint team from the Lima Puluh Kota Basarnas, BPBD, and PMI had difficulty finding 14 members motorcycle club The Lost Trabas Adventure Association (ITA) in the Banjalaweh Forest, West Sumatra. Sar’s team said the steep terrain and thick forest were a challenge when carrying out rescue efforts.

Head of the Basarnas Lima Puluh Post, City of Robi Saputra, said the location of the disappearance of the trabas motorbike lovers included the Bukit Barisan Mountains Area.

“Yes. The area includes the Bukit Barisan mountains,” said Robi detikSumatraMonday (23/1/2023).

The Bukit Barisan Mountains are a series or mountain range that stretches 1,650 kilometers from Aceh to Lampung. The mountain range is continuous and elongated parallel to the island of Sumatra.

According to Robi, apart from the difficult mountainous conditions, the joint team consisting of Basarnas, BPBD, PMI and the community also faced lighting problems when conducting the search.

“We got the news that it was midnight, but thank God, we managed to find them,” said Robi.
