Take Werder against FCB. What a great matchup that was. Now you could set your watch by when Bayern would take the lead. If Btemen were a top division team in the cup, there would probably be more excitement.
5:0 after 65 minutes without a single shot on goal from Bremen. It really couldn’t be more boring…
Heidenheim is currently grounded, I like that.
Well, that’s really a bit exaggerated. This is the first time since Flick that Bayern have shown some kind of dominance and they have to prove that against Leverkusen next week, because they’re not Zagreb, Bremen and Kiel.
Just so you know, Bremen won 1-0 in Munich last season.
Last season Leverkusen became champions.
The season before, Bayern scored the goal that won the championship in the 93rd minute on the last matchday; until then, BVB had been champions.
The dominance that Pep had hasn’t been seen for years now. On the contrary, I see the Bundesliga as stronger than ever before. In the times you’re talking about, when Bremen was strong, only Bayern was internationally successful and even Bayern weren’t a big name in Europe. Teams like Bremen, HSV and Schalke were mostly torn to pieces internationally.
At the moment, the Bundesliga has 4 teams each year that have serious ambitions to become champions. I see Bayern, Leipzig, Dortmund and Leverkusen as being on a similar level in terms of playing skills and when was the last time or ever in the Bundesliga that 4 teams were on a similar level in terms of playing skills.
Internationally, Bayern won 9:2, Dortmund 3:0, Leverkusen 4:0, Leipzig was in a 1:1 away draw with Atlético until the 90th minute and even dominated at times, Atlético has not lost a home game in the CL for years and Stuttgart dominated Real away at the Bernabeau.
In my opinion, the boredom does not come from the boredom of the championship fight, but from the “village clubs” that are promoted one after the other.
Heidenheim, Hoffenheim, Augsburg, Mainz, Heidenheim, Kiel etc. naturally reduce the attractiveness, while teams like Lautern, Schalke, Cologne, HSV, Hertha, Hanover are wallowing around in League 2.
Despite everything, the goal must be promotion, because that is the only way to achieve financial security. 2-3 years in the Bundesliga would save and build up our club financially for a decade. In addition, you only play against teams like Dortmund, Bayern, Frankfurt, Gladbach, Stuttgart and Bremen in League 1.
1-2 good years in which teams without fans are relegated and teams with fans are promoted can quickly turn the tide.
Let’s say Kiel, Augsburg, Mainz, Heidenheim and Hoffenheim are relegated this year and next year and Lautern, HSV, Schalke, Cologne and Hertha are promoted…
But as I said, it is certainly not boring because of Bayern’s dominance, which simply no longer exists, as teams like Dortmund, Leverkusen and Leipzig have caught up brutally.
