1.600 euros fine for a barbecue during confinement

The note is salty. A dozen people who had gathered around an outdoor barbecue in Laigneville in the Oise, were verbalized Wednesday March 18. And this, for having defied confinement and for having ignored the measures to ban gatherings, reports The Parisian this Thursday March 19.

When the municipal police arrived, the offenders, who were not very cooperative, were sentenced to numerous fines for a total of 1,600 euros. “It is expensive barbecue, but we do not play sanitary Russian roulette,” said the mayor of the town, Christophe Dietrich.

First of all, none of these young people had on him travel certificate allowing him to leave his house. But above all, barbecues with friends are not a serious reason for going out.

As a reminder, fines for violation of containment measures were increased Wednesday March 18 to 135 euros, a sum which can be increased up to 435 euros. The department of Oise is one of the most affected by the coronavirus epidemic.
