The Minister of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, indicated, Monday in the House of Representatives, that her department aims to attract 1.5 million business tourists in 2026 and 2 million in 2030. In response to an oral question on “the construction of an exhibition and congress center in large cities” posed by the Group of the National Rally of Independents, Ms. Ammor stressed that tourism he business, which plays a major role in the promotion of tourist destinations, has recorded significant development in recent years and has attracted significant investments in all destinations experiencing this type of tourism.
And to add that an entire sector has been dedicated to business tourism in the 2023-2026 strategic roadmap.
In addition, the minister indicated that work on a world-class convention center, with a capacity to accommodate 10,000 participants, is underway, in order to position the ocher city in the top 10 global destinations in terms of of business tourism and to raise it to the first rank in Africa.
Ms. Amor, at the same time, noted that the strategic roadmap only covers the period 2023-2026, while the projects require long-term financing and investments for their realization, ensuring that the ministry is ready to examine all proposals and destinations likely to welcome this type of tourism and to provide the necessary support and accompaniment.
