Bayern Munich beat Unión Berlin 1-5 this Saturday with goals from Leon Goretzka, Harry Kane, Thomas Müller, twice, and Mathys Tel in a match that was never compromised.

The victory has a relative value, since for the Bavarians the fight for the Bundesliga title is already lost but it is a sign of life ahead of the Champions League semi-finals against Real Madrid.

Bayern came out with six changes from the Champions League match in which they had defeated Arsenal in the Champions League.

In defence, Minjae Kim came on for Mathjis De Light and Alphonso Davies, who had been out due to suspension in the Champions League, Noussir Mazraoui started in his place. In the double pivot Alex Pavlovic took the place of Konrad Laimer and later there were Mathys Tel, Thomas Müller and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in place of Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala and Raphael Guerreiro.

It took a while for Bayern to begin to have control and long possession, but after 10 minutes the dominance began to be seen clearly and the attacks began to occur against an opponent that was looking for a counterattack.

The first clear chance for Bayern ended in a goal with a right-footed shot by Leon Goretzka inside the area, taking advantage of a pass from Tel that Müller let pass.

The Union tried to get there and their best arrival was a volley from Robin Gosens to a Trimmels center in the 42nd minute that Manuel Neuer had to deflect into a corner kick.

Before the break came the second for Bayern with a goal from a free kick by Harry Kane and after the break, in the 53rd minute, Müller scored the third by finishing off a cross from the left of the Choupo-Moting area first.

With the third the Union broke down and Bayern’s goals kept coming. The fourth, from a pass from Kane, was from Tel with a shot inside the area in the 61st minute in a play that began with a recovery of the ball by Goretzka when Union was trying to get out playing, and the fifth was scored by Müller with a header in the 66 to the center of Goretzka.

After the fifth goal, coach Thomas Tuchel moved the bench to give minutes to some players, among others Bryan Zaragoza who came on for Choupo Moting in the 71st minute.

In added time, Unión, through Vertessen, found the added goal that infuriated Manuel Neuer with his defenses.
