1-2. Mallorca finishes off Betis and Pellegrini – Football from Mallorca

The Betis jinx is over and so is Pellegrini’s jinx. A goal from Valery in the 93rd minute gives the team a spectacular victory that shoots them up the table and opens up all expectations. Spectacular victory for Mallorca, who played a great game.

The first half was a real roller coaster, with two goals in one minute, another disallowed, a red card that was stopped and reversed and several clear chances. All in 45 minutes in which Mallorca played a great game and did not lose face to Betis despite the early 1-0 at Lo Celso. Dani Rodríguez equalised a minute later after finishing off a pass from Larin, who had an excellent first half despite, of course, his lack of finishing.

Betis pushed hard down Abde’s flank, which forced Antonio Sánchez to work hard. Vitor Roque had a good chance, but the best was undoubtedly Samú Costa’s, who with the whole goal at his disposal headed a great pass from Robert Navarro into Rui Silva’s hands. García Verdura then sent off Lo Celso, but the VAR forced him to rectify the situation, while Darder’s 1-2 was ruled out for a clear offside.

Mallorca came out a little sleepy after the break and Betis had two very clear chances, the first from Abde, who shot off the post, and the second from Vitor Roque, which ended with a great save from Greif. Robert Navarro responded with a great play in which he had one dribble in the area and with a header into the hands of Rui Silva that could have been made much more of. Dani Rodríguez was the next to try, with Mallorca once again better than Betis on the pitch.

Betis had their last chance when Ruibal shot that Greif blocked, and when everything was heading for a draw, in the 93rd minute a corner kick reached Valery, who unleashed a shot that was unstoppable for Rui Silva.
