1.18 million euros are allocated for the operation of the 8989 vaccination telephone line – in Latvia

To ensure the operation of the Covid-19 vaccination application and information line 8989 by the end of the year, the government today, March 24, allocated 1.18 million euros of funding from the National Health Service from contingencies.

Since the beginning of March, the capacity of the telephone line has been significantly increased and its employees ensure both registration of the population for vaccination and answers to questions about the vaccination process – what are the priority vaccinations against Covid-19 groups currently being vaccinated in Latvia; how the population is addressed and vaccinators are applied; which provides vaccination of the population; Types of vaccines available in Latvia; as well as other topical issues regarding the organization of the vaccination process.

Currently, call 8989 and apply for vaccination are especially invited residents with chronic diseases and seniors over 70 years. According to the plan of priority groups of vaccination, these groups of the population are vaccinated primarily, at the same time continuing to vaccinate clients and employees of long-term social care centers, as well as employees of medical institutions.

You can apply for Covid-29 vaccination or find out questions about the vaccination process in Latvia on working days from 8.00 to 20.00 and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
