This means that FTTH or FTTB comes into play. 1 & 1 manages this through various local partners who have already laid the lines. Because: The fiber optic expansion in the versions mentioned is complex and expensive. The big advantage is speed. So 1 & 1 promises 1,000 Mbit / s downstream. The new tariff from 1 & 1 not only offers gigabit speed, but also a lot of additional services. A telephone flat with up to 10 phone numbers is included. You can also book up to 5 SIM cards with 100 MB data volume for free. HD TV is also free, but only as a limited offer, on top of that. This gives you 50 channels for the contract term as IPTV coverage. The HD TV campaign is not only valid for the 1 & 1 fiber optic 1,000, but for all term contracts of 1 & 1 from the DSL 50.
That costs the gigabit tariff
1 & 1 charges almost 70 euros for the fiber optic 1,000 tariff in the first 10 months. Then you have to pay almost 90 euros. If you are under 28 years old, you get 3 euros cheaper for the first 10 months. So the tariff is not really cheap.
At the start of 1 & 1 Glasfaser 1,000, the new fiber tariffs are available in the first expansion areas through the partners wilhelm.tel in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg, via R-KOM in Eastern Bavaria such as in the Regensburg, Straubing and Deggendorf area and via comingolstadt in Ingolstadt.
