Between February 15 and 21, 8,207 new contaminations with Sars-CoV-2 were screened on average per day, a decrease of 37% compared to the previous week. Less than one in four tests are now positive: 41,600 tests were carried out daily for a positivity rate of 23.1%. Since the start of the pandemic in Belgium, more than 3.5 million coronavirus infections have been diagnosed. Between February 15 and 21, an average of 34 people died per day from the virus (-30%), bringing the death toll to nearly 30,100 since the start of the pandemic in Belgium.
