Tamir Luzon, the winning coach, concluded: “We saw the expected weather this weekend and knew that the field in Netanya was not good to say the least. We knew it would be a muddy game with puddles and the whole preparation for the game was about struggles, first balls and aggressiveness. I told the players that there won’t be great football and that they should bring their heart and soul so that we return home with three points.’
On whether the game should have been held, the coach said: “I’m not responsible if they play here or not.” At the end of the day, it’s the referee’s decision and if the referee decides the field is playable, then it’s his. Obviously, these are not ideal conditions for a football game, but that’s what he decided and we came to give one hundred percent.’
Tamir Luzon (Shahar Gross)
On the gap at the top: “We are trying to detach ourselves from the whole subject of the table and these things. Our goal is to come to every game to win and then look to the next game. We don’t look at the gap, statistics and things like that. This is your job.’
“We are talking about a championship, and as far as I’m concerned, the real championship is that today the young Ilya and Liran sang with the senior team, with Niv Yehoshua already there.”
On the other hand, the upset Maccabi Netanya coach Dan Roman, who was also expelled, was upset at the end and preferred not to be interviewed. At the end, there was a trial between him and Judge Omri Levy, who may even write a severe report on this, which he warned Roman.
