No sooner has the victory won in Nîmes been celebrated than it is already time to look forward to an equally important match: the reception of Pau FC on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Geoffroy-Guichard. A little-known referee from the Greens has been appointed!
The FFF has communicated the referee appointments for the 25th day of Ligue 2 which is being held this weekend! And to officiate during the meeting between the 15th and 16th of L2, the federation has appointed a young referee: Benjamin Lepaysant.
A referee very little known to the people of Saint-Etienne, not the people of Pau!
Mr. Lepaysant Thual has officiated as a center referee 13 times this season in Ligue 2! He also officiated in 3 Coupe de France matches and 1 National match. The referee from the Normandy League has refereed ASSE only once this season, it was during Guingamp – ASSE last September (defeat of the Greens 2 to 1). On the other hand, it will be a first this season for the people of Pau who have never crossed his path.
During the 13 L2 matches refereed this season, Benjamin Lepaysant distributed 56 yellow cards, 1 second warning resulting in an exclusion and 5 red cards.

A referee discovered this season by the Saint-Etienne!
If we go back to the history of matches refereed (157 matches in total!) by Benjamin Lepaysant since the beginning of his career, we can realize that he had never refereed ASSE before the meeting at Guingamp. And for good reason, the 34-year-old referee has never refereed in Ligue 1. He could have refereed the Greens in the Coupe de France but that was never the case. It is therefore a real discovery for Sainté this season.
For Pau FC, it is also a first this season. But the Pyrénnées-Atlantique club has already crossed paths with the referee several times (8) in the past, whether in Ligue 2 or National.
