The two biggest names in Xbox Live’s Games with Gold lineup for October 2021 came from the Xbox 360, and the Sega Dreamcast, originally. Castlevania: Harmony of despair and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X tops the backward-compatible offerings for the Halloween-themed month.
Resident Evil Code: Veronica X is the high definition remastering of the 2000s Resident Evil – Code: Veronica for Dreamcast. The remaster was released for Xbox 360 (and PlayStation 3) in 2011.
The platform adventure Castlevania: Harmony of Despair is the fifth Games With Gold game with the words “Castlevania”, a colon, and “of” separated by two other words in its title. Symphony of the night offered in July 2019; Lord of the shadows in August 2019; Shadow Lords – Mirror of Destiny HD was free in December 2019; and Shadow Lords 2 became available in March 2020. Harmony of despair It is distinguished, however, by being a cooperative multiplayer version of the Castlevania formula.
Xbox One games are Aaero and Float up. Aaero, which was launched in 2017, is a shooting game on rails with elements of rhythm and action. Float up, which was also launched in 2017, is an open-world parkour game where “Gamers”, rebellious heroes of a futuristic city, “fight against oppressive laws while performing incredible tricks and combos.”
