His childhood, his arrival in Bastia
In a long interview with Onze Mondial, he looks back on his career.
“I grew up in Saint-Brice, in the 95, with my parents and my little sister. I started football there before joining the Sarcelles club. I was a child who made a lot of jokes, I liked to make the gallery laugh (smile) Otherwise, I was calm.
Basically, I was more pool than football. My dad preferred me to swim. I was really strong. I had finished third in the French championship in my category.
During a match against Red Star in U14, a recruiter came to see me. He offered me to come to the trial for a week. I went there with another player from Sarcelles. And as luck would have it, all week I was sick. So I didn’t play. And on the Friday before departure, I took part in an opposition. I did the job. And at the end of the match, Ghislain Printant said to me: “You have to sign”. It was the first club that manifested itself concretely. I came home, talked to my parents and went for it.”
His departure to Brest
In 2017, after only two weeks of preparation, SC Bastia slipped the key under the door. At 17, Lenny Pintor finds himself without a club. He then evokes for Ouest France: “I took the time to reflect with my family, to make the right choice. Brest is a family club, coach Furlan’s speech pleased me. And then I found Hugo Magnetti, with whom I was in Corsica”.
He clarifies several seasons later: “A lot of big clubs were interested. But as I was young, I chose Brest because I knew I could get playing time in pro. In the end, I didn’t play much but I was still able to show myself, which allowed me to leave at the end of the season for OL.
The club integrated me directly into the pro group. Adapting was not easy. The guys were strong in training. By dint of working, I got used to it. “
He will only appear 6 times with the Brest team in two seasons. The BrestOnAir account tells us about the young Parisian: “He finished his training. He came from Bastia after the club’s administrative relegation. He flew over Gambardella and the youth divisions but never really had a chance with the pro group.”
His visit to the neighbors…
On August 31, 2018, Lyon decided to bet on the young player announced as very promising. He signed a five-year contract with OL, who bought him for €5m (plus €4 in bonuses) and 15% of any capital gain in the event of resale. He then had two years left on his contract at Stade Brestois.

At the time, this price was explained by the competition from Valence on file.
He comes back to this passage, still for Onze Mondial: “I knew it was going to be complicated, that I would have to fight. I was able to appear in the group several times and entered once. All in all, it will have been a complicated year. It made me grow.
I am more mature. And then training daily with guys like Nabil Fekir, Memphis Depay or Tanguy NdombĂ©lĂ© is something. I made good progress with them. “
He was loaned twice to ESTAC where he met Laurent Batlles. He only wore the OL pro group shirt once.
Two loans and a meeting with Batlles
He will therefore be loaned to Troyes between 2019 and 2021. Jonathan Sottas, journalist NRJ Troyes, talks about his experience in Aube:
“We may have expected better from him, but he is a player who needs stability, confidence and to feel listened to. When he arrived, he had publicly announced that he wanted to score 15 goals and give 10 assists. A goal very (too) ambitious and a statement that probably gave him some unconscious pressure.
His serious knee injury halted his progress thereafter, but he is a hard worker with a lot of potential. Laurent Batlles would have liked to keep him but the change of owner meant that Estac did not buy him for a third season.”
His qualities
The player himself specifies his profile for Onze Mondial: “I am getting closer to Ousmane DembĂ©lĂ©. I don’t have both feet, but I have the same style, let’s say (smile). I can dribble, I fake a lot and I’m quick. I need to improve my left foot though.
I am a discreet guy, who does not take the lead, who laughs with people and who knows how to be serious when it is necessary to be.
Jonathan Sottas confirms: “He is an agile, fast player, capable of good acceleration and good breakthroughs in the opposing camp. However, he must be more regular in his performance and work on the accuracy of the last gesture.
The big issue for him is undoubtedly the mind. Like any player who needs to feel good, he must gain confidence in his abilities and qualities.”
His Trojan adventure will end with a serious injury. At the end of February 2021, he suffered a rupture of the cruciate ligaments of the knee.
While it is difficult to be certain about this young player, Lenny Pintor must have been a talented young player who had a series of accidents on the course. As he celebrates his 22nd birthday, he has already experienced 4 clubs, a redundancy, a relatively large transfer, and a rupture of the cruciate ligaments. If he joins the Greens it will clearly be a bet taken by Laurent Batlles. Wait and see.
