특강에 나선 윤건영 충북교육감이 갑자기 ″교사는 예비 살인자임을 인정해야 한다″고 말합니다.

교사는 눈빛으로, 말 한마디로 아이들에게 엄청난 영향을 끼칠 수 있는 존재라면서 ′살인′이라는 단어를 계속 언급합니다.

교사의 사명감을 강조한 발언이라고는 해도 비유가 지나치다고 느꼈는지 참석자들 사이에서 탄식이 터져 나옵니다.

윤 교육감은 최근 교권 침해 논란과 관련해선 ″선생님보다 돈이 많고, 학벌이 좋은 학부모가 항의해도 당당한 자세로 대응하는 게 중요하다″고 주문했습니다.
그러면서 ″졸고 있는 학생을 지도하다 문제가 생기면 교육감 개인번호를 알려줄 테니 나한테 전화하라″고 한 것으로 전해졌습니다.
충북교육청 관계자는 ″윤 교육감이 최근 발생한 교권 침해로 상처받은 교사들의 마음을 토닥이겠다는 취지로 발언한 것″이라고 설명했습니다.
하지만 ′예비 살인자′라는 비유는 지나쳤다며 일선 교사들이 사과를 요구하고 나섰습니다.
전국초등교사노동조합은 ″지역 교육계 수장조차 이런 시각으로 교사를 보고 있으니 학생과 학부모의 신뢰를 기대한 것은 어불성설″이라며 사과를 요구했습니다.
노조는 윤 교육감이 작년 같은 연수에서도 ″교사들은 눈빛 하나로 학생을 죽일 수 있는 가능성을 갖고 있다″고 말했다며 부적절하다고 지적했습니다.

Yoon emphasized that teachers, with just a glance or a single word, can have a tremendous impact on children and mentioned the word “murder” repeatedly.
“Just with a glance or a single word from a teacher, the potential for cutting off the infinite possibilities of those children and the potential for murder exists,” Yoon Geon-young said.
While some attendees considered Yoon’s statement as an emphasis on the sense of mission for teachers, they felt that the metaphor went too far, leading to sighs among the participants.

Yoon, the superintendent of education, also addressed the recent controversy regarding the infringement of teachers’ authority, stating, “It is important to respond confidently to parents who have more money and better academic backgrounds than teachers.” He further added, “If you encounter any problems while guiding a dozing student, I will provide you with my personal phone number, so call me.”
A representative from the Chungbuk Provincial Office of Education explained that Yoon’s statement was intended to console the hearts of teachers who have been hurt by recent violations of their authority.
However, frontline teachers demanded an apology, stating that the metaphor of being a “potential murderer” went too far. The National Elementary School Teachers’ Union demanded an apology, stating, “It is absurd to expect trust from students and parents when even the leader of the local education community views teachers in such a way.”
The union criticized Yoon, stating that he made inappropriate remarks during a similar training session last year, saying, “Teachers have the potential to kill students with just a glance,” and called it inappropriate.
As the controversy escalated, Yoon, the superintendent of education, held a press conference today and sincerely apologized to those who were hurt by his remarks, regardless of the reasons.
It was reported that Yoon also expressed his apology to the training teachers who attended his lecture yesterday.
