As North Korea closed its borders to block Corona 19, the US’s VOA reported that last month’s trade with China saw a sharp drop in real exports to 2 million won.
As a result of analyzing the data from the China Customs General, the broadcast said that last month, the items that North Korea actually exported to China were cosmetics and soap, which amounted to $2382 and KRW 2.63 million in Hanwha.
In addition, 16 kinds of items imported from China during the same period were only $143,000, recording a record low.
This excludes about $1122,000, which is the amount of electricity exports exchanged between North Korea and China at a joint hydroelectric power plant. Broadcasting added that electricity is difficult to see as a real export.
