President Moon Jae-in replaced the foreign minister with the inauguration of the US Biden administration.

Three new ministries have been appointed, including Middle and Medium Minister Park Young-seon, who expressed appreciation for running for the mayor of Seoul.

President Moon Jae-in has appointed President Eui-yong Eui-yong Special Advisor for Foreign Affairs and Security as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Jeong Eui-yong, who served as the first head of the national security office of the current government, has been assisting President Moon as a special diplomatic and security advisor.

The Blue House explained the background of his selection, saying he is the best expert who has devoted his life to the field of diplomacy and security.

In particular, he emphasized that it is the replacement of foreign ministers in line with the inauguration of the new US Biden administration.

A Democratic Party member Kwon Chil-seung was appointed as the successor to Park Young-sun, Minister of Small and Medium Venture Business, who expressed his gratitude to run for the mayor of Seoul.

The background of the selection is that Kwon Nae Jeong, who is the chairman of the ruling party’s SME special committee at the National Assembly, has a deep understanding of major SME-related policies and issues.

Rep. Hwang Hee, an active member of the ruling party’s National Assembly, was also appointed as the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The Blue House explained that Rep. Hwang demonstrated policy planning and communication capabilities in various policy fields, including the National Assembly’s National Defense and Land, Infrastructure and Transport Commission.

Both ministers Kwon Chil-seung and Hwang-hee, the nominee of the two ministers, are regarded as key aides to President Moon for his relationship with the Blue House during the Roh Moo-hyun administration.

It is an analysis that the restructuring in the second half of the regime was completed by changing nine ministries and ministers three times during the year-end and New Year.

A senior Cheong Wa Dae official, however, opened up the possibility of further restructuring, saying that it is possible to reshuffle at any time in order to achieve final results in the second half of the ruling.
