On the 16th, a male confirmed patient in his 80s died in a nursing hospital in Bucheon during group quarantine.

After being confirmed on the 12th, he died while waiting for a bed assignment for four days.

Gyeonggi-do and Bucheon-si reported that they continued to request hospital beds after the diagnosis, but were not assigned, and that the condition worsened and died.

Prior to this, two men in their 70s who were confirmed on the 11th also died while waiting in bed on the 13th and 14th, respectively.

Since there are no hospital beds, the number of cases being transferred to other areas is increasing.

There were 13 patients who moved from Gyeonggi-do to Mokpo City Medical Center in Jeonnam, all of them mildly.

After sending six people on the 11th, it was the second time that Jeonnam-do was aware of the shortage of beds in Gyeonggi Province and proposed it first.

Gyeonggi Province is struggling to operate a home care system, but it is not enough to secure beds.

The utilization rate of COVID-19 treatment beds in Gyeonggi Province has reached 90%, and the beds for severely ill patients are also saturated.

There are over 250 people waiting for beds in Gyeonggi-do alone, and most of them are severely ill, so if additional beds are not quickly secured, the damage will increase.
