That’s right. The spread of IM mission-related infections, which started in Daejeon, has spread to Gangwon, Gwangju, and Gyeongnam.
There were about 320 cumulative confirmed cases related to the IM Mission in Daejeon and Gwangju alone, and the total number of cases of sporadic related infections such as Anseong, Gyeonggi-do exceeded 340.
The number of confirmed cases is expected to increase further as inspections are underway on 23 educational facilities and 17 research facilities operated by IM Mission.
In particular, it was found that 8 out of 10 were confirmed at facilities related to the IM Mission in Gwangju.
According to the city of Gwangju, 159 people were tested at four IM mission-related facilities, of which 80%, or 128, were confirmed.
In addition, there are high concerns about local spread as all teachers who are active in church and daycare related activities have been confirmed.
In addition to the facilities related to the IM mission, the quarantine authorities are identifying and conducting total inspection at 6 additional unauthorized educational facilities in Gwangju.
One camp facility has been thoroughly inspected, and the remaining five, which are non-camping facilities, are undergoing inspection.
The city of Gwangju has issued an administrative order to voluntarily report and undergo inspections for unauthorized educational facilities with five or more people and all camp facilities.
