As ‘deigning champions’ France and Morocco vie for a ticket to the 2022 Qatar World Cup final at 4:00 (Korean time) on the 15th, French President Emmanuel Macron travels to Qatar to witness in person to the semifinal.
According to Reuters on the 12th, French sports minister Amelie Udea Castera announced that President Macron will travel to Qatar to watch the semi-final match between France and Morocco.
France, winners of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, defeated England 2-1 in the quarter-finals the day before to advance to the semi-finals.
“Of course, the detailed program is undecided, but President Macron has promised this programme,” explained Minister Castera.

President Macron cheered on his SNS, saying: “The whole country is behind you. We will go to the end together.”
Meanwhile, France’s semi-final opponent Morocco became the first African country to advance to the semi-finals of the World Cup, attracting worldwide attention.
The two countries are also historically intertwined and Morocco, a French colony, gained its independence in 1956 after a long struggle.
Argentina and Croatia will meet on the same day as the semi-final between France and Morocco, while the winners of each match will play the highly anticipated final at midnight on the 19th.
