Croatia and Argentina reached the quarterfinals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Croatia won 4-2 after penalty shoot-out in their quarter-final match against Brazil played yesterday (9th) at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.
Croatia, who faced heavy favorites Brazil that day, ended the first half with a score of 0-0, gave Brazil a point in the first overtime and scored a goal in the second half of extra time to insert the penalty shootout.
Brazil’s first and fourth kickers missed and advanced to the semifinals.
On the same day, the Netherlands and Argentina, who played their quarter-finals at Lusail Stadium in Qatar, also made it 2-2 until extra time and could not decide a winner.
In the ensuing penalty shoot-out, Argentina won 4-3 to advance to the semi-finals.
Argentinian Lionel Messi scored 1 goal and 1 assist.
Croatia and Argentina will play on the 13th to decide which team will advance to the final.
Today (10), Morocco and Portugal, and France and England will play to advance to the semi-finals.
The winners of these two matches will face off on the 14th for a ticket to the final.
