[영상] China’s minus 50 degrees and 87 km/h Siberian winds… The worst cold wave in half a century

With a record cold wave in China, temperatures in Beijing, the capital, hit the lowest in half a century.

On the 8th, the morning temperature in Beijing reached -19.6 degrees Celsius, breaking the record for the lowest temperature in 52 years. The lowest temperature ever recorded in Beijing was 19.3℃ below zero on February 24, 1969.

With the addition of a strong wind of 87 km/h, the temperature felt down to minus 43 degrees.

The temperature in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China, which is more affected by the Arctic cold, has dropped close to minus 50 degrees Celsius.

The cold wave went down to southern China, and the temperature in Shanghai and Hangzhou also dropped by about 10 degrees from the previous year.

The China National Climate Center cited the Arctic sea ice problem as the cause of the cold wave. The Arctic is the source of the cold front, and it was found that the Arctic temperature was high last fall, which was the second lowest in history.
