(Seoul = Yonhap News) Indian media such as The Hindu reported on the 12th (local time), citing military sources, that Indian and Chinese soldiers engaged in the biggest border scuffle since the “clash of sticks” in 2020.
Soldiers from both sides reportedly clashed on the morning of the 9th at the Tawang border near Arunachal Pradesh state in northeastern India.
A source said, “When 300 to 400 Chinese troops crossed the LAC and overran it, Indian troops strongly blocked it and a fight broke out.”
Citing other sources, The Hindu said the number of wounded Indian soldiers had risen to 20, while the number of wounded Chinese soldiers was even higher. An official told TheHindu that there were around 600 Chinese soldiers at the scene of the clashes.
It is also known that the Indian Army has mobilized three units to the scene during the conflict but there are no reports of the use of firearms during the conflict.
In a statement, the Indian Army acknowledged the confrontation and said that “some soldiers from both sides were lightly injured and both sides immediately withdrew from the area”.
Meanwhile, the Chinese government called ‘Jangnan’ (藏南, southern Tibet) about 90,000 km2 of Arunachal Pradesh and claimed sovereignty, facing the Indian side, which de facto controlled it.
Let’s see it in the video.
