– Former Busan Mayor Oh Geo-don, 72, who is accused of’forced harassment of an employee’, appeared in the court for a second interrogation (warrant substantive examination) before arrest.
Mayor Oh came to the back gate of the Busan District Court by car at 10:48 am on the 18th. Mayor Oh, who wore a wool hat and a mask that day, entered the court as soon as he got out of the car.
The Busan District Court, Gyeong-jin Kim, the deputy chief judge in charge of warrants, conducts a warrant review on the mayor at 11:30 am on that day and decides whether or not to be arrested. The results are expected to come out as early as the late afternoon of this day.
On the 15th, the Busan District Prosecutors’ Women and Children’s Crime Investigation Department (Director Eun-mi Kim) filed a preliminary arrest warrant against the mayor on the 15th, applying four charges including forced harassment.
The prosecution added another suspicion of sexual harassment in addition to the sexual harassment that Mayor Oh admitted when he resigned in April. It is alleged that in November 2018, he attempted to sexually harass another female employee in Busan, near the city hall.
Earlier, the prosecution requested a warrant for preliminary arrest on charges of forcibly harassing a subordinate in the office of Mayor Oh during the police investigation in June, but the court dismissed it.
Meanwhile, in April, Mr. A, who was forcibly harassed by Mayor Oh, submitted a petition the day before, stating, “Please, please, arrest the innocent Ogeodon so that I can return to my daily routine at least a little sooner.”
