Son Heung-min (28, Tottenham), who is making a big stride between the European stage and the national team game, was selected as the’Player of the Year’ who made Korean football shine for the second consecutive year.

The Korea Football Association (KFA) announced on the 15th that Son Heung-min was selected as the 2020 KFA’Player of the Year’ men’s winner. Following 2013, 2014, 2017, and 2019, Son Heung-min, who won the fifth award in his personal career until this year, has also increased his record for the most awards ever in the men’s category. The KFA Player of the Year Men’s category was selected by adding 50%+50% of the votes of 51 journalists in charge of soccer and 19 experts in technology.

The Women’s Player of the Year category, selected by experts, went to Seulgi Jang (26, Hyundai Steel, Incheon), who led Incheon Hyundai Steel’s eight consecutive WK League wins. It is the second award after 2018.

Ji So-yeon (5 times) holds the record for the most awards in the women’s category. Cho Gyu-sung (22, Jeonbuk Hyundai) selected the goal of the year through a survey on the KFA homepage. Won Doo-jae (23, Ulsan Hyundai) and Chu Hyo-ju (20, Ulsan University of Science) were selected as the Young Player Award given to male and female prospects.
