A worker in his 50s at a construction waste disposal company in Incheon was caught by a conveyor belt and died.

It was investigated that the machine was turned on and the equipment was inspected, and that he had been changed.

There are one after another, but the workplace is seldom changed.

This is a place where the waste is shredded, rebars, etc. are selected with a’magnetic separator’ and resold.

Around 0:15 am.

A Korean-American, A, was disfigured while removing foreign substances from the conveyor belt of the magnetic separator.

It got stuck in the conveyor belt.

When the 119 rescue team arrived at the company within 20 minutes of the accident, victim A was already dead.

Police investigation revealed that Mr. A was working alone without a safety manager or fellow employee.

Besides, the conveyor belt was still running.

The police secured CCTV screens at the time of the accident and investigated whether company officials, such as the site manager, violated safety rules.

In Incheon, on the 28th of last month, a worker in her 80s died in a similar accident.

He got stuck on the conveyor belt of a waste disposal company and was caught doing the cleaning work.

Even though accidents follow, it seems that the safety rules that stipulate how to cope with emergency situations were not followed in the field.
