Owners of cafes, restaurants, and pubs have filed a lawsuit against the government for damages.
The National Federation of Cafe Presidents and the Restaurant Hope Emergency Response Committee held a press conference in front of the Seoul Central District Court today and filed a lawsuit claiming 1.2 billion won from the government.
They cooperated with the quarantine policy, but they criticized the government’s countermeasures, saying that the only thing left is a pile of unbearable debts, and that the disaster subsidies were not hope, but despair.
In particular, he complained that the government is forcing self-employed people to sacrifice only without on-site surveys, and that they cannot expect sufficient compensation because even the least compensation for losses has not been legislated.
A total of 240 people, including 170 cafe owners and 70 restaurant owners, participated in this lawsuit.
