A boat is turned upside down in the middle of the dark sea.
It is presumed to be the hull of the’Goryongho’ that has received a report of flooding off the coast of Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
The Coast Guard is currently conducting search operations around fishing boats to rescue survivors.
However, a storm warning has been issued on the seas before the East Sea.
There is a high wave height of 2.5~3.5m, making it difficult to search.
The report of flooding of fishing boats came in at 6:50 pm yesterday.
The exact report point is 42km east of Gampo-eup, Gyeongju-si.
The Georyong Lake is a fishing boat for red crabs that has a 9.77 ton class and was shipped in Pohang Janggi.
There were 6 people on board, including 2 Korean sailors, 3 Vietnamese, and 1 Chinese Korean.
It is said that one of them reported flooding to a friend.
Ten ships and seven aircraft were employed in the search, and two commercial ships were also supported.
When the news of the flooding of fishing boats was delivered, Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Moon Sung-hyuk urgently instructed us to do our best to search and rescue lives by mobilizing all available resources.
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries has put in rescue equipment and manpower, such as fishing guidance ships, at the accident site, and requested search support for nearby private ships and fishing boats.
