The intensity of this cold wave can be seen by looking at the Han River.

The cold wave from the Arctic, which lasted for nearly ten days, formed a white layer of ice in the Han River behind me.

Today in Seoul, the morning temperature dropped to -18.6 degrees Celsius, the coldest in 20 years since 2001.

As a result, icebreaking areas are increasing not only here, but also all over the Han River. For this reason, the Yeouido Passion Rescue Team used fireboats to perform icebreaking work this morning.

This was to secure the dispatch route, and the work was done to divide the ice layer from Yeouido to Jamsil Bridge.

If you look at the screen, an icebreaker is splitting on white ice, and shreds of ice are popping up next to the prow that splits the ice.

An ice layer has formed on the Han River, but no official ice formation has been observed on the Han River yet.

The official freezing of the Han River is likely to be observed around this weekend, at a point 100m upstream between the 2nd to 4th piers in the Noryangjin direction of Hangang Bridge.

It seems that the cold wave below -10 degrees Celsius will continue until this weekend, so please continue to maintain your body temperature and take good care of your health.

Up to 7cm of snow will fall and accumulate on the west coast of Chungnam and the inland west of Honam.
