Mexican President Ne Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador held a regular press conference on the 28th local time.
At the meeting, President Obrador said that the Mexican government and Tesla had reached an agreement to build Tesla’s plant in Mexico.
President Obrador said Tesla’s Mexico plant will be located in Monterrey, in the northern state of Nuevo León.

President Obrador said Tesla would announce details on March 1, local time.
President Obrador said on the 27th of last month that he had a phone call with Tesla CEO Elon Musk and reached an agreement.
Tesla is currently operating electric vehicle factories called Gigafactories in California and Texas, Berlin, Germany and Shanghai, China.
As a result, the Mexico plant will become Tesla’s fifth gigafactory.
The Mexican state of Nuevo Leon, where Tesla’s electric car factory is located, is an area bordering the United States along the Rio Grande River.
It is called ‘Mexico’s industrial capital’, and about 270 Korean companies, including Kia Motors and LG Electronics, are operating there.
