Japanese Prime Minister Suga is expected to announce his position on whether to declare a’emergency’ to prevent the spread of Corona 19 at a New Year’s press conference held tomorrow.
Japanese media predicted this as Prime Minister Suga discussed ways to respond to the request for a review of the’emergency’ re-launch by the heads of the four metropolitan areas in the presence of the Nishimura Economic Regeneration Award and other related ministers today (3rd).
Earlier, the Japanese government responded to the spread of Corona 19 by declaring an emergency that actually forced people to refrain from going out and shorten restaurant business hours in April and May last year, when Corona 19 was the first epidemic.
However, Prime Minister Suga has been criticized for responding passively to the declaration of an emergency since taking office in September last year, fearing the negative impact on the economy.
Accordingly, the heads of four metropolitan areas, including Tokyo Governor Koike Yuriko and Kanagawa, Chiba, and Saitama prefectures, met with Yasto Nishimura’s Economic Regeneration Minister yesterday (2nd) and asked for a review of the emergency re-employment.
