Japan’s first COVID-19 vaccination will begin tomorrow (17th), targeting 40,000 medical workers nationwide.
Vaccine Minister Kono Taro held a press conference and announced that vaccination will begin at 100 medical institutions nationwide for 40,000 medical workers starting tomorrow.
After the first vaccination, the second vaccination will be administered on the 10th of the following month after 3 weeks.
Minister Gono explained that for the 40,000 people who are vaccinated first, a special syringe that can be inoculated six times per bottle of Pfizer vaccine will be used.
In addition, he added that a second volume of Pfizer vaccine will arrive in Japan next week.
The Japanese government plans to administer the corona vaccine to all citizens over the age of 16 over the next year.
In the middle of next month, the remaining 3.7 million medical workers and the elderly over 65 will start vaccination from April, and vaccinations to the general public are expected to proceed sequentially thereafter.
