[국제]IS, self-destruction of serial self-destruction in Baddad

The Islamic State of IS, a Sunni extremist terrorist organization, has blamed itself behind the self-destruction in Baghdad, Iraq, where 32 people were killed.

According to the Associated Press and other foreign media, IS announced on its website on the 22nd local time, “Abu Yousif al-Ansari and Mohamed Arif al-Muhajir aimed at Shia.”

The previous day, in central Baghdad, two terrorists wearing suicide bomb vests self-destructed in the middle of the market, injuring more than 140 people.

The Iraqi Ministry of Health said 32 people were killed and more than 110 were injured in the suicide attacks, and some of the injured were in serious condition.

The suicide bombings in central Baghdad took place about three years after the death of 38 people in a serial self-destruction terrorist attack in January 2018.

IS occupied one-third of Iraq’s land in 2014 and reached out to the outskirts of Baghdad, but the Iraqi government managed to oust IS in late 2017 with the support of US-led coalition forces.
