The EU and EU 27 member states initiated a review of a trade agreement with the UK, which was concluded on the 24th, and suggested approval within days.
According to the European edition of the US political media Politico, the ambassadors of EU member states held a meeting in Brussels, Belgium on the 25th of Christmas, the day after the agreement, and began evaluating and reviewing the draft agreement.
EU ambassadors did not object to the agreement, suggesting that member states would approve the agreement within a few days.
It also approved a letter to the European Parliament stating that member states will soon make a decision on the provisional application of the agreement.
The EU plans to finalize the agreement with the European Parliament early next year after temporarily entering into force on the 1st of next month.
Earlier, on the 24th, the EU and the UK reached negotiations on future relations including the Free Trade Agreement.
The two sides agreed to finish negotiations within the transition period set by the end of the year according to Brexit at the end of January and have been negotiating for nine months.
During the transition period, everything will remain the same as it was before Brexit and will be subject to substantial changes from January 1 of next year, when this period ends.
