[국제]”Declaration of Martial Law in 7 Areas of Mandalay, Myanmar”

Martial law was first declared in parts of Myanmar where protests against military coups are spreading.

AFP news agency cited military officials saying that martial law has been imposed on the seven regions of Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar, starting today.

As a result, residents of this area are prohibited from gathering or protesting more than 5 people.

Also, traffic was banned from 8 pm to 4 am.

The martial law is the first step that came just hours after the military government announced today that it will “punish illegal acts.”

Earlier, Myanmar’s military ministry said in a state-run TV statement that “actions in accordance with the law should be taken against illegal actions that harm the national stability, public safety and rule of law.”

The statement on state-run TV was interpreted as suggesting a hard-line response as the military regime’s first stance on the coup and protests.
