China’s unmanned lunar probe, Changeo 5, returned to Earth with samples of lunar surface soil.
This is the first time that China has directly sampled the moon.

China’s unmanned lunar probe Changeo 5’s return to Earth capsule landed at 2:59 a.m. our time on the grasslands of the northern Neimung Autonomous Region, Si Zewang.
These capsules contain 2 kilograms of soil and rock samples from the lunar surface and 2 meters below the moon.
This is the first time that China has directly sampled the moon.
This is the first time a new moon sample has been obtained since the Soviet’Luna 24′ robot exploration in 1976.
Changeo 5 left Earth on the 24th of last month on the 24th of last month on Changjeong 5 of the transport rocket.

The Xinhua News Agency evaluated that “the successful conclusion of the three-stage lunar exploration program launched in 2004, including orbiting, landing and sampling.
The Associated Press also said that this is the third time China has landed on the moon, but is the first to take off from the moon again. “This successful mission is the latest breakthrough in China’s ambitious space program.”
