Eight students were killed or injured in another shooting on a US university campus.

President Biden urged Congress to expedite a gun control bill that would ban the sale of assault guns.

Police cars surrounded the entire university building where the shooting took place.

The mass shooting occurred at Michigan State University on the night of the 13th local time.

A gunman opened fire on the school building, killing three students and wounding five others.

The suspect, 43-year-old Anthony McRae, shot and killed himself during a standoff with police.

The police said the suspect was neither a school staff member nor a student, and they wondered why they chose Michigan State University as the location of the crime.

President Biden urged Congress to act in the wake of the shooting spree.

They say we need to speed up passage of gun control laws, including background checks on gun buyers and a ban on the sale of assault guns.

A shooting incident in which four or more people were killed is classified as a mass shooting, and this Michigan State University incident was counted as the 67th mass shooting this year alone.
