Chungbuk 20 more confirmed… Outbreak of mass infection at negative glass manufacturers

On the 5th, 20 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) occurred in Chungbuk.

According to Chungbuk-do, 15 people in Eumseong, 3 people in Cheongju, and 2 people in Jincheon have been confirmed as corona19 as of 7 pm on the same day.

All confirmed patients in the Eumseong area are employees of glass manufacturers in Daeso-myeon.

Besides one Korean in their 50s, the rest are foreigners in their 20s to 40s.

After two foreign workers were confirmed at the company the day before, 126 all employees were examined to find additional infected people.

All of the confirmed patients were found to have lived in the company’s dormitory.

As a result, the company had 17 cumulative infections in two days.

In Cheongju, a coworker in his 60s, confirmed the day before (No. 1817, Chungbuk), was infected.

In addition, an acquaintance in his 50s of an employee in his 40s (No. 1806, Chungbuk), confirmed the day before, was also confirmed to be infected by a contact inspection.

Cumulative confirmed cases related to this company have increased to 14 since the last 3 days.

The remaining Cheongju confirmed cases were classified as confirmed in this area by visiting a screening clinic in Cheongju with 80 residing in Jincheon-gun.

It is reported that the confirmed person has stated that there have been symptoms such as lethargy and general weakness since the 24th of last month.

An additional foreign worker in their 30s was confirmed at a chicken processing company located in Jincheon, where group infection occurred.

As a result of this worker’s positive test, there were a total of 23 confirmed cases related to this company (22 foreigners and 1 domestic).

In Jincheon, a foreigner in her 60s with unknown path of infection was confirmed on the same day.

As of 7 p.m. on that day, the cumulative corona19 confirmed in Chungbuk region was 1,840.
