The court delayed the commencement of the corporate rehabilitation process ahead of the situation where the period of support for autonomous restructuring applied by Ssangyong Motors along with the corporate rehabilitation procedure expires this month.
Ssangyong Motors said that the Seoul Rehabilitation Court delayed the decision to commence the rehabilitation process by extending the program to support self-organization.
The court’s decision seems to have taken into account that Ssangyong Motor, which continues to negotiate with investors, may reflect this and submit a preliminary rehabilitation plan.
In December last year, Ssangyong Motors applied to the court for support for self-reliance with court officials.
Following the sale, negotiations are underway with Mahindra, a major shareholder, and HAAH, a major investor in the United States, but have not finished the deadline for the end of February.
