Gasoline prices are rising and diesel prices are falling.

As a result, the reversal phenomenon in which diesel became more expensive than gasoline was resolved in eight months.

This trend is expected to continue for some time.

Generally, diesel fuel is cheaper than gasoline when refueling at gas stations.

Because gasoline is taxed more.

But the Russian invasion of Ukraine changed common sense.

International diesel prices have soared due to disruptions in diesel supply, especially in Europe, and a reversal phenomenon in which diesel is more expensive than gasoline has appeared in Korea.

But lately things have changed.

Gasoline prices are rising, but diesel prices are falling.

In the last week of this month, the gap narrowed to less than 6 won per liter.

On a daily basis, on the 23rd, the price of light became cheaper than gasoline.

This is the first reversal in 8 months since June last year.

This is because the reduction in oil tax on gasoline has been reduced this year, and as demand for heating power in Europe has decreased, international prices are also continuing to decline.

This trend is expected to continue for some time.

However, the fuel tax cut policy, which is scheduled to end at the end of April, is a variable.

If the cuts currently applied at 25% for gasoline and 37% for diesel are adjusted, it will inevitably have a large impact on the price difference.
